EpiscoCare and Harpur Memorial Hospital

News from the Diocese of Egypt with North Africa and the Horn of Africa

5 June 2013

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Today as we start our Synod (20-23 May 2013) for the Diocese of Egypt with North Africa and the Horn of Africa, with the theme of "The Church and a Changing Context," I would like to request your prayers for me, for Bishop Bill Musk and Bishop Grant LeMarquand, as well as all of the clergy and laity participating in this very important synod at this very important time.

As we will be hearing reports during the Synod about what God has done in the last two years and what we hope God will do in the future, I would like to share two ministries with you:

Children at an EpiscoCare Nursery

EpiscoCare Annual Report 2012 PDF (3MB)

The Anglican Missions Lenten Appeal for 2012 supported EpiscoCare and their nurseries in Suez. These nurseries predominantly welcome children from economically disadvantaged families that cannot afford to pay for government run nurseries. The goal of the nursery program is to provide time for the children when they can play together (photo) and build their intellectual and social abilities. Read it here »

Harpur Memorial Hospital in Sadat City Report (May 2013) PDF (1MB)

"This report provides an update of Harpur Memorial Hospital in Sadat City, Egypt. The hospital opened in December 2010 and it has successfully served the community for over two years. The number of patients has increased dramatically, and in 2012 the hospital served over 27,000 patients through its outpatient clinics. In February 2013, the surgical department and the inpatient services opened." Read it here »

May the Lord bless you!
