Nick and Tessa have been working in medical support and community justice work in Uganda since 2013. For the past year Dr Nick has coordinated eight remote Anglican health centres that serve many poor people. There have been exciting developments – hiring new nurses who have been trained to pray with patients, new maternity services, and a building project to transform St Philip’s health centre into a mini-hospital. Nick and Tessa love being part of the local scene, and finding ways to connect the church with the community. Tessa’s work has involved setting up support for those with alcohol problems as well as a chili farming project, campaigns for access to clean drinking water and Bible studies under mango trees.
Nick and Tessa’s community life also involves tutoring neighbourhood kids and coordinating the English Bible study at their church.
