It brings us great pleasure to introduce you to the projects of the 2016 Spring Appeal. We are very excited to partner with the Diocese of Hyderabad in Pakistan and with NZCMS. This appeal is supporting:
Diocesan Boys Hostel, Mirpurkhas, Pakistan: The boys living in this hostel have access to valuable high school and college opportunities through which they are able to gain maturity, knowledge and life skills in order to go on and make a difference in the lives of their family, church and community. Much of the Christian leadership in the surrounding area including both church and local organisations is from past hostel students. The funds received for this project will go toward: water for the hostel, discipleship and leadership development, maintenance and repairs, educational costs, and students breakfasts.
NZCMS Mission Partners in the Middle East working with refugees and in Community Development: The Syrian refugee situation is today’s largest humanitarian crisis, with approximately 4 million Syrians displaced outside their country and 7.6 million inside. This project will support an NZCMS Mission Partner working with refugees and two Mission Partners doing community work in the Middle East.
Nick and Tessa Laing, NZCMS Mission Partners, Uganda: Nick and Tessa have been working in medical support and community development in Uganda since 2013. Last year Dr Nick took on a new role coordinating eight remote Anglican health centres that serve many people. The centres have been an important part of fighting a massive malaria epidemic and two new Centres were established last year. Tessa works with the church to launch groups to tackle local issues.
These three projects are very special to us at Anglican Missions and have the potential to help a lot of people, provide opportunities, and to change lives for the better. Please keep these projects in your prayers.
Resources for this Appeal have been sent to Parishes and individual supporters. However if you wish to donate directly from our website, please click on the ‘donate’ tab on the website for information on how you can make a donation.
