Mission on Fire! The Challenge of Growth

November 2011 - NZCMS Mission Partners

The church is excited!

August_family_photo_at_church_004.jpgOver the last year we have seen a growing number of people moving out to serve in overseas mission. The challenge for the church is to respond by supporting those who are called by God to go. Anglican Missions (AMB) is launching an end of year appeal to raise $160,000, as the number of new mission partners going has overtaken the funding! Can you help? Spread over every church, this is approximately $300 per parish.

Our Church, through New Zealand Church Missionary Society (NZCMS) and AMB, supports over 40 Mission Partners around the world in fields such as health, education, evangelism & Bible translation, and we’ve been doing that for many years. These people are making an impact worldwide, sharing the gospel, teaching, discipling, assisting in healthcare, working with the poorest of the poor. They are ambassadors for Christ and for the NZ Church.

To keep the average single Mission Partner ‘over there’ costs our Church $400 a week while a family of Mum, Dad and kids costs more. They still have everyday expenses to cover such as rent, transport, food, education (for their children), insurance and medical bills.

These are our people, our stories and it’s our mission.

We need your help to keep our partners there!
