The Anglican Missions Board partners with NZCMS to support mission partners to serve around the world. The funds raised from this appeal supports this long-term partnership.
NZCMS Mission Partners Andy and Shona Miller & family:
Andy and Shona see their role as working alongside the move of God in Latin America through mobilising, networking, training and interpreting.
They have now been in Costa Rica for a year. During this time Shona and their children (Aliana, Jeshaiah & Elias) have been focussing on learning Spanish and establishing family life in San José, the capital. Andy, who is bilingual, has delved straight into an itinerant ministry; his key goal has been to develop relationships with both the national church and missionary leadership of Costa Rica. This has seen great fruit and Andy has been asked to take on a mobilisation role with a group that represents all the mission organisations in Costa Rica. This coming year he will also continue to work with other organisations involved in mobilising young people into missions and providing online training of missionaries.
Prayer points: The Millers are here in NZ on deputation until 21st August. The current plan is for them to be back in Costa Rica by the 7th September, so prayer for their travel time and transition back to their life in Costa Rica would be great.
NZCMS Mission Partners Neill and Rebekah Dunbar & family:
Cambodia is a youthful nation with a rapidly rising urban population and rate of development. Still in recovery from its recent turbulent past, this predominantly Buddhist nation is in desperate need of the Good News of Jesus.
Neill and Rebekah have answered the call to join the Church in Cambodia. They began their ministry in Melbourne in 2018 attending the 5 month Australian CMS training programme to prepare them for cross-cultural mission in Cambodia. They are now integrating into the life of the Anglican Church in Cambodia and their children (Jonathan, Aaron & Emily) are attending HOPE International School. Their plan is to be involved long-term with the life and ministry of the international and Khmer congregations.
Prayer points: Please pray for their continued language learning. Khmer (the local language in Cambodia) is actually one of the hardest to get your head around the accent rather than learning words. Thank God for progress as they learn and practice. Pray also for wisdom for ministry opportunities in the church they are associated with.
