Anglican Missions CEO visits Papua New Guinea

Canon Robert Kereopa, Anglican Missions’ CEO is this week joining a mission visit to the Anglican Church of Papua New Guinea (ACPNG) led by Bishop Andrew Hedge of Waiapu. The aim is to continue the mission partner relationship on behalf of the Waiapu Diocese region with the Anglican Church in PNG. Waiapu has fostered a mission partnership on behalf of their Province with ACPNG over the past 10 years.

Several others are also going including a representative of the H & W Williams Trust who have been constant supporters of mission in ACPNG over recent years. The group will be visiting Port Moresby, Popondetta and Lae, culminating in a mission partners meeting with representatives from the Mission Boards from NZ and Australia, and the Diocese of Norwich, UK. In recent visits Bishop Andrew has spent time looking into the practical means by which Waiapu can support the mission of ACPNG and three key areas have emerged; Administration & Finance; Theological Education; Rural ministry support. The aim of this visit is to encourage a wider view of ACPNG within Waiapu and to listen to the needs of the church and see how Waiapu Diocese can translate these into practical mission support in the coming five years.

The group will be away from Monday 26 August to Monday 9 September and would appreciate your prayerful support during this time.
