    The Archbishops and Bishops of the province have launched an appeal to help the Diocese of Christchurch and Te Hui Amorangi Te Waipounamu in their ministry, care and support to their people and parishes and communities affected by the 22 February Christchurch earthquake. AMB have offered to receive funds on behalf of our overseas friends and partners for this Appeal. These will then be forwarded to the Bishop's Emergency Appeal. more»

    MOST people like chocolate eggs for Easter, but a small Papua New Guinea community called Dogura will be getting a tractor and, hopefully, pipes for a clean reliable water supply. Eltham resident Malcolm Pease has just completed work on this Massey Ferguson 245 tractor, ready for its new life in Dogura. The 600 residents need it for carting goods and people up a steep hill from the wharf to their village, and around the very rough roads in the area. more»

    It was a really hard start to the year, with 23 people killed by a bomb as they left their church in Alexandria a few minutes into the New Year. For me, it felt like the day of 9/11, a feeling of shock and disbelief that this could happen. As a foreigner, I'm one step removed, but the feeling at work was so sad. My workmates are generally laughing and walk into each other's offices telling jokes and laughing but everyone was so sad and subdued. This was followed by days of protests by Christians, who feel ignored by the government, and not protected enough. more»

    "In the midst of the turmoil which Egypt is going through, we have felt that the Lord is very near to us. We have experienced his peace, and we were assured of his protection. In most of our churches and homes, there have been prayer meetings for the situation and for our beloved country Egypt. All our churches are safe, although they have not been guarded by the security since Friday when all the security were withdrawn. This assured us that the one who protects the churches is the Lord of the Church." link»
