The ‘Get one. Give one.’ Campaign is an Anglican Church wide campaign aimed at supporting others less fortunate. As vaccines roll out across Aotearoa New Zealand, we are aware that in many low income countries vaccines may not be available; there may not be enough of them to go around; and their cost will significantly impact availability. All of this thereby increasing inequality.
In being thankful for the availability of vaccines in our country, we have launched the ‘Get one. Give one.’ Campaign which aims to protect and support the poorest and most vulnerable. The Campaign aligns with two of the 5 Marks of Mission, namely Service (responding to human needs by loving service), and Justice (transforming the unjust structures of society). Funds will be channelled through UNICEF which, on behalf of the Global COVAX facility, is leading the largest vaccine procurement and supply operation ever undertaken, aiming to supply 2 billion vaccine doses by the end of the year.
Through this campaign, New Zealanders can contribute to a broad global initiative that aims to fund support for vaccine equality in countries that would otherwise miss out.
Resources are available for promotion in churches, parishes and rohe – see our appeal page.
