Meet Rutendo

A young missionary serving as a Gender Justice Advocate at the House of Sarah, Fiji

20 May 2019

Rutendo Mahachi is a Global Mission Fellow with the United Methodist General Board of Global Ministries, engaged in a two-year term of service as a gender justice advocate with the House of Sarah In Fiji (photo: Thursdays in Black with the Sarah Carers). The Global Mission Fellows program takes young adults ages 20-30 out of their home environments and places them in new contexts for mission experience and service. The program has a strong emphasis on faith and justice. Global Mission Fellows become active parts of their new local communities and they connect the church in mission across cultural and geographical boundaries.

Rutendo, originally from Zimbabwe, is working with both the Anglican and Methodist churches in Fiji. This includes working for the House of Sarah – read her newsletter here
