We have launched our Spring Appeal for 2017 and would like to introduce you to the three important and worthy projects we are promoting. We are very excited to partner once again with the Diocese of Hyderabad in Pakistan and with NZCMS. This appeal is supporting:
Diocesan Boys Hostel, Mirpurkhas, Pakistan: This was supported as part of last year’s Spring Appeal and we are continuing our support this year. The hostel is such a valuable asset in a region of very low education rates and where a large proportion of students do not have access to school. The hostel is actively linked to the local church and much of the Christian leadership in the surrounding area is from former hostel students. The funds received for this project will go toward the provision of water for the hostel, discipleship and leadership development, building maintenance and repairs, educational costs, and students’ breakfasts.
Margaret Poynton, NZCMS Mission Partner, Papua New Guinea working in Admin support: Margaret’s role has been assisting Archbishop Clyde in setting up administration and communication systems to ensure consistent mission and ministry development across the country. Since Archbishop Clyde’s retirement, she has been based in Newton Theological College in a variety of supporting roles; and shortly she will be working with the new Archbishop-elect Rt Rev Allan Migi.
Miriam Tillman, NZCMS Mission Partner, Togo, West Africa: Miriam is leading the Pharmacy department at the Hospital of Hope in Mango, northern Togo. She oversees the day to day running of the Pharmacy, ordering medicines and training Togolese pharmacy technicians all in a hospital which sees over 100 patients each day.
These three projects are very special to us at Anglican Missions and have the potential to help a lot of people, provide opportunities, and to change lives for the better. Please keep these projects in your prayers.
Resources for this Appeal have been sent to Parishes and individual supporters. However if you wish to donate directly from our website, please click on the ‘donate’ tab.
