  • Creative signwriting – a peek at life through signs and billboards

    26 September 2012

“After the rather “heavy” content of the previous blog post, it is time to lighten up a bit and share with you some amusing signs I have come across since coming to Cambodia. Most of them feature some rather “creative” English, shown here for your amusement, with no intention of being derogoratory. I probably frequently use equally “creative” Khmer and the locals are very patient and long-suffering with me! So, please fasten your seat belt, ensure your cellphone is turned off or in flight mode, your seat is upright and your tray table is stowed, – and prepare to take off – to Phnom Penh, Battambang and Siem Reap…. for a unique look at aspects of Khmer life portrayed through interesting signs I have seen while out and about in these places.” link»
