Your donation has helped us purchase two shipping containers which are full of building materials, tools and pre-positioned relief items which have just arrived in the capital, Nuku'alofa.
One container will be positioned at St. Pauls Church in Nuku’alofa and the other at All Saints Anglican Church in Fasi. Both will provide well-needed water-tight storage for pre-positioned supplies.
Read here a short summary of the response to date. It includes a table summarising the contents of the two containers.
The containers and their contents, along with transportation costs and longer-term preparedness work has all been made possible as a result of your generosity.
We also want to acknowledge the extraordinary generosity and sheer hard work of:
- Father Lui Tuilotolava, Senior Despatcher at Stratex (NZ) Ltd who was responsible for filling the containers.
- Henry Rogo, Project Manager, Trinity Construction Ltd. who helped source building materials and helped to load the containers.
- Tristan Parsons, Logistics, Status Exports who sourced and purchased items on our behalf and managed shipping arrangements.
- Fe'iloakitau Kaho Tevi, Strategic Advisor to the Archbishop of the Diocese of Polynesia who has managed arrangements in Tonga.
Thanks also to Stratex (NZ) Ltd. and St Georges Anglican Church in Papatoetoe for letting us use their sites to store the two containers while they were being filled.
We will continue to provide photos and news on our website as the containers arrive, are unpacked and set up as permanent storage facilities.
