The Anglican Church in Tanzania (ACT) continues to grow. And with growth comes the challenges of training and equipping across large geographical distances.
ACT is committed to training its clergy and to leadership formation. Each year we usually continue with our support to the Province with a grant to cover pastoral visits of the Archbishop to encourage Bishops and Dioceses.
This year (2019) the proposed dioceses to be visited are: Victoria Nyanza (DVN), Dar es Salaam, Rukwa, Kibondo, Mount Kilimanjaro, Tabora and Central Tanganyika. Read here recent news from the Diocese of Kibondo (2018/2019).
In 2018, the Archbishop travelled to the Dioceses of Lweru, Shinyanga, Mara, Rorya, Tarime, Ruvuma, Masai and Lake Rukwa.
The Archbishop usually spends at least 5 days in each diocese providing pastoral care to diocessan bishops, pastors, and their congregations.
Many of the Dioceses of the Anglican Church of Tanzania have a high demand for Archbishop’s Pastoral Visits. Pastoral visits are part of the ministry of his Brother bishops in Dioceses to encourage them to achieve their mission goals.
